The inaugural function for the Satchidananda Thapovanam, Kandy, was held on Thursday, the 22nd of December, 2016, with a full program of ritual and prayer, discourse, prasadam and entertainment.

 

The celebration was hosted by
Mr. Senthilnathan Shanmugam who has taken up the project and has supervised and financed a complete renovation over the last few years.

Sindhuri Nandhakumar served as Master of Ceremonies. Guests included Mr. Vasu Rasiah, an Honored Guest and President of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Aruna, Mr. Rahju and his daughter, Rudrani, and four interfaith celebrants.

​

About 35 people were in attendence and most of them had traveled 3 or 4 hours to get here.

​

As the ribbons were cut, we played a recording of the LOTUS bells. The dedication of the main building, the All Faiths Hall, proceeded with Christian, Buddhist, Islamic, and Hindu prayers. Then, two homas were offered, one in each building.
