This course well-known and respected worldwide as it offers outstanding skills for conducting a beginner’s level class in Hatha Yoga.  Trainees also further their own spiritual growth through the teachings of Sri Swami Satchidananda.

 

The program will run for ten consecutive weekends. Accommodation for both Friday and Saturday nights will be provided either at Satchidananda Thapovanam itself or at a neighborhood hotel. 

 

The senior trainer is Swami Divyananda Ma who has had over 30 years experience in conducting Yoga trainings, retreats and workshops around the world. 

 

The curriculum includes:

• Thoroughly training for conducting classes including yoga postures, deep relaxation, meditation and pranayama at the beginners level.

• Workshops to guide trainees step by step in their own yoga sadhanas

• Lectures on Raja Yoga – the science of the mind

• Lectures on adjunct topics, such as yogic diet, anatomy and physiology, principles of healing, Bhakti Yoga, Karma Yoga and Jnana Yoga.

• An introduction to Yoga instruction for the elderly, children and pregnant women.

 

Preprequisites:

• A sincere interest in yoga studies and spiritual life.

• The desire to live a lifestyle free of drugs, tobacco, alcohol and meat.

• Fluency in English – the entire program will be conducted entirely in English

 

 

For Sri Lankan citizens the fees are Rs. 108,000 which covers all instruction, texts, food and shared accommodation for the ten weekends.  Applicants will be interviewed in person or by phone to determine eligibility.  Fees for foreign applicants will be charged according to the economic status of their country.
